| A banner exchange is a tool whereby website owners and webmasters can create more traffic for their sites. This is a method of advertising or marketing your site. If you have a website, you can create a banner for it and then have the right to post your banner in another participating website. However, you can only do this if you show the other site’s banner on your own site. Hence the term banner exchange.

| Based on the term itself, the process is basically a give and take relationship between different websites. Each time you display another site’s banner on your own site, you earn the right to have your own banner displayed on other sites. You may keep track of your “rights” to display your banners by keeping track of the credits that you earn each time you show another site’s banner on your own site. When your banner is displayed by other sites, your credits are automatically redeemed.

| Not more than a minute or two. If you are a fast typist, then you can go through the whole process in less than 1 minute! Once you have signed up you are eligible to earn credits already. However, you cannot start redeeming your points until the Exchange Administrators validate your account.

| You can earn exchange points simply by displaying other banners on your website. We suggest that you start doing this immediately upon signing up. That would mean that you immediately start earning points. To do so, just click on the Get HTML option on your Control Panel (in the Exchange Account). You can then used the HTML code to display other banners on your site!

| The exchange ratio simply refers to the correspondence between how many banners you display on your site and how many of your own banners you can have displayed on other people’s sites. For example, an exchange ratio of 2:1 would mean that for every 2 banners you display on your website, you are entitled to 1 of your own banners in another site. A 1:1 ratio would mean that you can have your own banner displayed on another site for every banner that you show on your site.

| Categories are a great way to insure visitors on your site get banners that are appropriate for the content. Each account can define one category that best describes its content. Most websites these days really would fall under multiple categories, so choose the best one for your site.
You can also display banners for only a specific category on your page. The Get HTML page in your Control Panel contains details for doing this.

We do not discriminate against anyone and as such, welcome any individual or entity who wishes to participate in our banner exchange program.

| Absolutely not! The beauty of the banner exchange program is that we do not ask any payment from our members. The service operates on the premise that our aim is to generate traffic to our sites. As such, we survive off an exchange – give and take – basis.

| Categories are used to filter banners in order to show only those that are relevant to the content of your website. This is done so that the visitors to each and every website in the exchange program will be brought to a site that is interesting to them.
Each Bannerlot account can specify a category that would best suit its content. Take special care in choosing the category for your site so as to be able to target a more specific group of people.
On your end, you may also use categories to display specific banners with content that you want. You can tweak your settings in the Control Panel, using the Get HTML option once again.
